Did you miss me? Well, I am really, really, really, really glad to be home. We went to go visit family out of state, and although we had a nice time, I am glad to be back in my little world. I missed my house. I missed my friends. I missed my pets. I missed my kitchen. Lastly, I missed cooking.
We came home to a blown fuse in our garage from our Christmas lights. Normally, that would not be a big deal, but my outside freezer was on that circuit. Ugh. I lost almost all of my meat stores, all of my veggies, all of my bread, and some of my cheese. I was not a happy girl. Thankfully, I did salvage some of it. We have enough food for dinners this week, but that is about it. I was really upset. It takes me a long time and a lot of work to get a good stock of freezer items. I shop sales diligently and I squirrel away meats like crazy. We are really on a tight budget, so I can't just go and buy all new food. Then, I portion, package, and label all of my protein items. Cumulatively, it takes hours of work to keep my freezer organized. I was in tears. It is not only the expense of replacing hundreds of dollars in groceries, but also, all my hard work down the drain. I was literally sick to my stomach after throwing away two full garbage bags of bad, thawed, stinky, funky, food. Oh well, what can I do!?!?!?!?!?! Double Ugh.
Other than that, all is well. We had a nice Thanksgiving, and I am lucky to have such a great family.

That totally sucks. Did you notice stuff like that never happens with your freezer is almost empty. It is always when you are fully stocked and comfortable. I will let you know if I run across any great meat deals.
